You need to get a Single Status Certificate from a local notary office, then the certificate shall firstly be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Western Australian State Office and finally be legalised by Chinese Consulate General in Perth. When the certificate legalized by Chinese Consulate General in Perth, you can also apply for tourist visa to China.

To apply for authentication of documents in order to get married in China:

The applicant shall have the authentication done by the DFAT WA State Office and Chinese Consulate-General as soon as possible after the issuance of the Single Status Certificate. The Single Status Certificate will have a validity of 6 months since its issurance. The applicant is required to prepare the following documents before lodging the application with Chinese Consulate:

a. One duly completed and signed authentication application form.

c. A affidavit stating that you are single in whole Australia territory (not only in WA).

d. A divorce decree by the court, If you are divorced.

e. Produce the original and photocopy of your ID with photo (e.g. your valid passport).
