About:Scenery along Silk Road

Many thanks for your comments Mr Alip. We have no definite plans as yet. We ae thinking of approximately 21 days travelling from Beijing to Urumqi to Kashgar-Aksu-Korla-Tupan-Dunhuang-Jiayuguan-Lanzhou-Xian-Shanghai.Or we could reverse the trip and start from Beijing to Xian and fly from Urumqi to Shanghai. Also wanted to include Hohhot and Datong in the trip as I wanted to stay in a ger in the grasslands.
The drive from Kashgar to Hetian (Khotan)is the scenery more worthwhile seeing that driving from Kashgar to Aksu? And is Hetian a very interesting place and why. I doubt very much that we will be able to include all the towns in our itinerary.
Thanks

I think you may make your travel schedule according to Silk Road Tours(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/silk_road/). I know that Hetian silk village is worth visiting. If you want to visit all of the places you mentioned, then just put it into practice.

On the road from Urumqi to Ili you will see the sayram lake, and then ili city, then to narat grassland, kazak people, after narat bayinbulak, baynbulak you will see monggols, then to kucha, after kuqa khotan then kashgar, kashgar turpan, turpan dunhuang also good plan you will see both southern and northern routes. That one is good.
Enjoy it.
