About:Chinese Consulate in Perth

Thanks for your reply. I have looked on the visa requirements and under transit visa G item 5 states that a visa is not required for a person that transits via Shanghai and stays for less than 48 hours, and has an Australian passport.
Which reply is correct? The one that you gave to me or the one under transit visa G, item 5?
I will be arriving at Shanghai on a cruise ship and only going ashore with an approved tour from the ship for a few hours.

Mrs.Watkins, if you go ashore from the cruise ship to visit Shanghai for a few hours, you need to apply for Debarkation Card at the checkpoint of the border. I advise you to contact the Sun princess cruise ship to enquire the visa issue, which should be familiar with the visa regulations if it organizes the international cruise.
