About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

My husband and I are cruising and disembarking in Shanghai. We will be staying for one night in Shanghai at the Crown Plaza, Shaghai Pudong (14 March 2011). We depart by air for Sydney, Australia, at 22.40 on 15 March, 2011. Do we need a visa?

Thank you.

Yes, you need a visa to Shanghai(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shanghai.htm) because you stay in Shanghai for one night and one day. It is not counted as transit.
