About:Chinese New Year

I'm travelling to Shanghai in early Feb 2011 (during the Spring Festival).

My concerns are:
1. How bad the crowd will be in those tourist destinations?
2. Will it be difficult to travel to places like SuZhou, HangZhou, and the suburbs around Shanghai?

Thanks

It won't be so crowded as what you think of at the scenic spots, but it will be crowded on the public transportation, since it is a tradition to visit freinds during Chinese Spring Festival(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/essential/holidays/spring-festival.htm) in China. It will be difficult to travel to suburban areas of Shanghai, Suzhou adn Hangzhou. However, you may book a Shanghai Tour(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/package/shanghai.htm) through a tour company who will arrange everthing well for you in advance.
