About:Chinese Consulate in Sydney

Hi, I am a Chinese citizen, now residing in Sydney,Australia with my Australian husband. We are travelling to Vietnam in April, 2011, and apart from requiring Vietnamese visas, my passport is required to have at least 6 months validity. (It is due to expire in July, 2010) Do I go to the Chinese Consulate in Sydney and request an extension, or will they renew my passport for a further period? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Chinese consulate in Sydney has stopped issuing passport extension since 2007. But you can apply for a new passport there.
