Dear Sir

You don't need a visa to Hong Kong because Australian nationals are exempt from a visa to Hong Kong for up to 90 days. But you need a Chinese Visa(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa.htm) to Shanghai(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shanghai.htm) , please obtain the visa in Australia before departure.
