Zhou Dunasty in China were divided into Western Zhou (11th century BC - 771 BC) and Eastern Zhou (Spring and Autumn Period 770 BC - 476 BC & Warring States Period 476 BC - 221 BC). I think you mean the western zhou dynasty established by Zhou wuwang. Then the dynamics should be the King Zhou's cruelty and fatuity, the success are their defeating the Shang Dynasty and established the Zhou Dynasty and the failure should be distributing lands to his relatives and meritorious ministers which weakened the king's reign power and divided the county into may small states indirectly.
