Which one is most suitable as a footwear - walking boot or sport shoes in Beijing?

which one is most suitable as a footwear - walking boot or sport shoes?
if i wear a winter jacket, is it enuf if i just wear a sweater and a shirt without a long johns?

Beijing weather in winter is very cold, you'd better wear long jonhs with swearter and down jacket. A warm boot is better in winter than sport shoes.
