About:Shanghai Travel

Hi,

I was thinking about traveling to Shanghai during Chinese New Year, but I heard that the city is really quiet during that time. Is that true? If it is, how many days should I wait after the New Year before going to Shanghai and exploring the city?

Also, which places would you recommend in Asia to spend the New Year?

Thanks!

Well, these tourist spots, public transportation and star-rated hotels in Shanghai do open all the same during Chinese New Year. You don't have to worry about it too much. The quiet must mean that these people working in Shanghai will leave for their hometowns during Feb 1~8. Some stores and wholesale markets or restaurants may be closed, such as these ones in Qipu Road But, there are so many people here and lots of travelers coming in Chinese New Year. You will experience the Chinese New Year as well.
