How many years did it take to build the great wall of china ?

The Great Wall was not built in a certain period but all through China history. The earliest date can be dated to Western Zhou Dynasty (11th century BC - 771 BC) and the latest was Ming Dynasty(1368 --- 1644).I got thew info from Great Wall Construction(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china_great_wall/construction/) ,you may have a look.

It is hard to know how long it took to build the wall, because they discontinued it for many years, and would rebuild it off and on at different parts of China.
