About:Zhangjiajie Scenic Spot

Cruise from Chongqing along the three gorges and then to Zhanjiajie

I plan to spend about 10 days taking a cruise from Chongqing along the three gorges and then go to Zhanjiajie in mid dec. Can someone advice me if I can make the trip on my own? Can I buy the tickets for the cruise when I get there? Where should I stop the cruise and what mode of transport should I take to go to Zhangjiajie(ZJJ) from the stop? How many days would the cruise take? Would there be snow in ZJJ then?

You can make the trip your own, but you have to book the cruise tickets a couple of weeks in advance. So, I think you should asked for help from an agent to help you do this. The cruise trip can be ended in Yichang or Wuhan. You can see detail info at Yangtze cruises(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cruise/) . Yichang is closer to Zhangjiajie. It takes 4 days from Chongqing to Yichang. Yichang Railway Station has trains to Zhangjiajie, leaving at 13:00 and 23:57, arriving in some 5 hours later. If you have enough time, you may end your cruise trop at Wuhan. Then take direct bus (about 8-9 hours I am afarid) to Zhangjiajie then. Hope it help you to make decision.
