Among Shangri-La and Dunhuang, which destination is more suitable to be visited during this winter period?

During winter time, Shangri-La and Dunhuang are both cold. However, i suggest you to Dunhuang as the highlights there are all Chinese historical and cultural sites, which are not affected by the weather. You'd better bring down clothes.
