Hi I plan to go Chengdu and then to Tibet through train, please suggest the best time to go and itinerary, thanks

It only take two hours by flight from Chengdu to Lhasa, but the train may take more than 44 hours as it will detour to Shaanxi, Gansu and Qinghai province and then to Tibet. I would rather take the flight.
