About:Shanghai Attractions

hi,
In your opinion is better have a local guide to going around Shanghai?..is dangerous and difficult for Western people going around without a guide and speaking only english?

e....if you just visit bustling heart of shanghai, i think it's very safe...and most of young people there can speak strong english..don't worry about that..

You really clarify that they don't speak english. No need to confuse Ms. Zorastration that she can be ok because she is in the big city, when that is not going to be the true picture.
Very few people speak english and some of them think they do by saying "Hi, what is your name"
I know good tour guide in Shanghai but the one we have in Beijing I can't recommend it.

I don't think most young Chinese speak "strong" English... or even good English at that!
