What's the distance between Laolongtou and Shanhaiguan Pass? Which beach is better, the one in Laolongtou or Beidahe?

It's about 5 kilometers from Laolongtou to Shanhaiguan. You can take bus no. 25 or 34 to travel between them. About the beach, I'm sure the Beidaihe beach is better. But people usually go there in summer.
