About:China Work Visa

Hi, I m currently has an offer from a French company in Shenzhen, and i m currently staying in HK without any visa needed for 3 months short stay. The company told me if i take the offer, i will be based in HK contact, since i need to work in China most of the time,i do need a multi-entry or whatever working visa there.
However, the company suggested if i can have an visa to go China first, then i can change the visa or they can help me to apply the working visa. I m confuse which the visa i need to apply first and i dont know how i can start. Would you mind to give me some suggestions?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

You can first apply for a tourist visa to China, then ask your company to help you to get a work visa, then change it into a one year residence permit, which is like a multiple-entry work visa, you can travel frequently between Shenzhen and Hong Kong by using the residence permit.
