About:Transfer in T3 of Beijing Capital Airport

I arrive in Beijing Airport Terminal 3 at 12.00 noon and my connection flight to Tokyo departs Beijing Terminal 3 at 17.35pm on the same day. Will I be able to go out into the main Terminal 3 building to have lunch, etc., during this time? Will I need a visa for this beforehand, or will I be able to get one at the immigration desk at Beijing airport, please? Will I need to collect my luggage and re-check-in myself and my luggage, or would I be able to just leave the luggage to be put through to the connection flight? Thank you in advance.

Thank you Ms Celiana. The reason that I want to go out into the main airport terminal is to meet a friend (who lives in Beijing) and to have lunch with her. She is willing to come to the airport as there will be enough time to meet up for a lunch, but only if my husband and I can go out into the main airport terminal. Do you know if this would this be possible, please?

International passengers can stay in the airport in China for no more than 24 hours without visa. You can do that since you will only stay in there for 6 hours, also there are many restaurants in the restricted area.

For luggage, if you have on-ward boarding pass, you don't need to pick your luggage and it will be tagged-through to the next flight, but if you don't have an onward boarding pass, you'll need to pick your luggages.
