the china visa issue is as such at the moment. you can buy a visa in hongkong (the best place is on peking road, which is in kowloon just off nathan road.) the problem at the moment is that instead of issuing 90 day visa, china are only issuing 30 days. if you are planning on staying more than 30 days but a double entry and then just cross a border (e.g.)hong kong, macau, and you will gain another 30 days saving you a lot of time, money and effort.
expect to pay between 900-1100 hk$ for a single entry and 1200-1400 hk$ for a double entry (if you are asked to pay more shop about as you're being ripped off. single visa can be collect the same day as long as you hand your passport in before lunchtime, it will be next day if you want a double entry. i think china will go back to normal visa sales, border sales and times in Janurary 2011. hope this helps, ok bye :-)
