About:Nanjing Long-Distance Bus

Hi! We (4 in a group) will be traveling to Guilin in Apr 2011 for about 7days. As it's our 1st time there & we'll be going there on our own (without using travel agency), we would really like to get some advise on how we should plan our 1 week trip e.g what's the recommended trip route, what is the must-visit places, do we only stay in Guilin or we would have to move about in terms of accommodations, modes of transportation, must-try food, etc? Any advise would be much appreciated!! TQ!

A week is too much for just staying in Guilin. You have to get around to see more. I recommend Longsheng and Sanjiang, with beautiful scenery and local minority villages. Guilin - Yangshuo cruise along the Li River seems to be a must. In stead of the cruise ship, you can also take bamboo craft for adventure too. For other destinations, you should take transportation. Language is of couse a big problem, so you have to fix where you are going and check how to go there. I know you want to travel without using agency, but I think it is helpful for you to make your itinerary base on the Guilin tour packages(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/package/guilin.htm) in this web.

Many thanks Mr. Manny for your advise! If we decide to engage a local agency to guide us around, do you know or able to recommend any good affordable ones?
