About:China Transit Visa

Hello there,
I am a Nepali citizen and the US greencard holder. I am flying from Los Angeles to Shanghai and from Shanghai to Delhi via "China Eastern Airlines." Do I need to get transit visa? Normally to travel to india, visa is not required for Nepalese citizen, however I heard from a friend of mine that if we are entering delhi via china we need to get Indian visa. Is that information right?
Thanks

You don't need to get China transit visa if you remain at the Shanghai airport for less than 24 hours.
