Cany I exchange currency at the hotel? How much do they charge? Should I get it in the US before coming?

Yes, these star-rated hotels do supply money exchange, however, the exchange rate is a little higher than the standard rate. You'd better ask for details from the hotel staff. On the other hand, there are many banks in downtown area, where you could exchange money in terms of the standard rate.
I think it will be helpful to exchange some money before leaving since US dollar is not accept at Pudong Airport and downtown area.0
