For your info, there is a halal Uighur restaurant at Pudong airport Terminal 1 level 3, right behind counter F. Do get a quick bite before you check into your hotel. Once you reach your hotel, do walk around the vicinity and watch out for muslim man in white skull-cap manning small chinese-muslim stall. You may not understand what's written on the signboard but if there's arabic 'halal' word on it, then it's muslim-owned. If you go to a more expensive halal restaurant, read the menu carefully, most restaurants serve alcohol and added it, in some of the dishes, too. If you manage to visit the Expo, there is a halal stall as well, beside Saudi Arabia pavillion. Good luck and have fun shopping in Shanghai....
