About:Scope of Use of Shanghai Public Transportation Card

In Hong Kong, their Transportation Card, known as Octopus, can buy from soft drink machines and some Supermarkets. When I get my Shanghai Public Transportation Card, will this be the same?

No, the Shanghai Transportation Card could not be used to pay for drink and other goods.
