When is the best time to travel to the Silk road starting with xian, urumuqi, kashgar etc.without rain and no extreme heat during the day. I do not mind if it is cooling around and between 15-20max. during day and nite.

The best time to go to Urumqu and Kashgar is August, while Xian is in the hottest time. If you do not mind cooling down, I think September is good choice. It is about 10-24 degrees in Kashgar now, Xian is a bit warmer. So, you can decide the right time to go.
