Hi! My son and I are planning to visit China as tourists on our own but we are not joining a tour group. If we will apply for tourist visas do we need to have hotel bookings and airplane bookings available together with our passport as documents to be presented together with the visa application? From China we plan to go to HongKong before going back to the Philippines. Do we also need to get tourist visa for HongKong? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Documents to be included with application:
1. Applicant's passport with blank pages and at least 6 months validity left before expiration. A truly and completely filled application form affixed with one passport-size or 2x2 colored photo, with white background, full-face front view, and no hat. Photo must be glued on the application form. Stapled pictures will not be accepted. Scanned photos will also not be accepted.
2. A copy of the round-trip plane ticket
3. Hotel reservation / invitation letter with a copy of the inviter's valid chinese residence visa and passport information page of inviter's or Chinese national identity card.
4 . Other documents required by the visa officers if necessary.

The above documents is necessary for China Visa, if you will stay in Hong Kong for no more than 14 days, you don't need to apply for Hong Kong Visa or travel permit.
