Going on my first trip to Beijing, any suggestions for best inexpensive sight seeing or activities around the city and best place to shop. thanks

Many parks in Beijing are for free, and I think you shouldn't miss the famous attractions like Forbidden city and Great wall. The best place to shop, for not expensive place? You can go to Xiushuijie(秀水街)
