I think you can take city travel bus (城市旅游线)for sightseeing around Puxi(you can find the bus on Huaihai rd or People's Square).
When you are near The Bund, take ferry to Pudong CBD, which will be a very economic (2 yuan for passenger)and different experience you wil have.

We were on Diamond Princess last year crusing from Alaska to Bangkok and we stopped in Shanghai, and 3 other Chinese cities. We were very lucky because Princess provided free shuttle buses in all the ports to downtown or City Centres. Check with Princess to see if they still offer complimentary shuttle buses this year. If they do, your problem is solved.
