About:Beijing Weather

Hi i am visiting Beijing and Shanghai from the 9th - 18th January 2011. Ive heard this is the coldest month! didnt even check this before we booked tickets because this is usually our summer! I am really worried, is is ok to visit during this time? will things be open, or more expensive to get too? were backpacking also from Indonesia before and going to Thailand after so carrying heavy clothes isnt a great idea, is there somewhere we can hire clothes or something?

The cold weather will not affect much of your visit, in summer, there are attractions in Beijing and those places will have another best point in winter. Things will still be open then, you can carry one or two down coats and then buy other things you need in Beijing. I think your experience of traveling through summer to winter and then summer again will be much memorable! Good Luck!
