About:Chinese Embassy in Nepal

Hello,

I will be in Nepal in November. I want to travel to Tibet and then onward to Beijing.
Could you please tell me which visa(s) or permits I require to undertake this travel.

Is there a maximum travel period for this visa?
What is the cost and where would I apply for the visas?

Thank you,
Richard

You can apply for a tourist visa to China through Chinese embassy in nepal, but I kindly recommend you to apply in your country if you will not live in Nepal for more than 3 months (generally, the visa to China is valid for 3 months from the issue date), Bcz the Chinese embassy there may not accept your appliation. A tourist visa has 30 days duration and it can be extended twice within China. A single entry visa is about GBP 65 at CVASC in UK.
Beside, you need a Tibet Enter Permit issued by Tibet Travel Bureau. Individual visitors are not allowed to enter Tibet, so you need to contact a travel agency in China first, they will handle the permit for you.
