About:Chinese Embassy in France

I am an American who has been living in Burkina Faso for the past two years. I want to travel to China. I will be spending a short amount of time in Paris and would like to apply for my visa there. I do not have a French visa. Is this acceptable?
Thanks

Generally, they only accept application from French citizens and foreigners who work there or hold French residence permit. So, you'd better apply in your home country.
