hi! we will arrive in a.m. at luoyangleave the next morning for xian.

Question

HI!  We will arrive in a.m. at luoyang and leave the next morning for xian. (august 2011)  hostel  will not buy it in advance for us but only after we arrive there.  So can anyone tell me if they can secure any tickets from luoyang to xian in such a short time? How about bus alternative.  I have to leaveluoyang the next day and i know that august is summer with lots of students traveling.  Can anyone help with some info of possible availability of tickets?

Well, there are over 50 trains departing from Luoyang to Xian everyday. The hostel may purchase tickets for you but seat ticket is not assured as you said it will be the travel peak time. If the ticket is not available, please consider taking a coach to Xian, which could be taken on the spot and takes you about 6~7 hours.

Mr. Jamie,  thank you very much.  I presume that bus is no problem getting seats.  And luggage, they can accomodate.  we are limiting ourselves to 1 pc. each of a slightly larger than maximum carry on airline bags.  Thank you very much!
