I arrive at 13:45, can I get a ticket now for the bullet train? Does the shuttle take me directly to the train station or are there transfers. Can you recommend a car company?

The shuttle bus will stop just at the square of Shanghai South Railway Station. Then, you could enter into the railway station immediately.

Yes, the bullet train ticket could be purchased now. If you were not in Shanghai, please ask an agent to book ticket for you. Of course, some service charge is required.
