A Residency has severe restrictions before application may begin (5 years living in China, concurrent with: 5 years married and living with a Chinese National spouse + other criteria). But now you can apply for a residence permit valia for a year and it can be extended within Chiha through your wife's local PSB.

You Malaysia driving license can not be used to drive in China, you need to change it into Chinese one.
