I will arrive in Beijing Capital Airport on Friday, October 22 around noon and would like to travel to Chengde the same day. What is the best option? Somebody said in this website that taxis leave to Chengde from the transportation center of the airport and cost RMB 60 per person or RMB 300 for the whole taxi. My Chinese friends tell me this would be much more expensive, aroud RMB 1,500. Any ideas?Thanks, Patrick

Yes, taxi costs more than CNY1000 to Chengde from Beijing Airport, you can take Airport Express Train or Airport Shuttle Bus 3 to Dongzhimen and then take taxi to Sihui Bus Station, there you can take Bus to Chengde, the bus takes round 4-5 hours.
