About:Chinese Consulate in Sydney

I am a Nepali passport holder currently in sydney. I am going to Nepal on sept 29 and coming back on november via Honkong by Cathay pacific airline, I am just wondering if i need to have a transit visa for Hongkong or not as I have a transit in hongkong for about 3 to 4 hours. I don't need to go out of airport. Does anyone can help me by telling whether I need to have a visa for this transit or not.

Thanks for help.

You do not need HK Visa for Transit if you stay inside the airport Terminal for 3 to 4 hours period. Visa is needed only if you wanted to go out of the Terminal i.e. enter HK for transit (short stay) purpose.

Hi Mr Sharma, I'm pretty sure you don't need a Hong Kong visa for transit at Hong Kong airport,as the international transit area is just beyond the Hong Kong border.

You need a transit visa for Hong Kong because all Nepal nationals are required to hold a valid visa for the HKSAR for whatever purpose (including those who are in transit and remain on the airside).
