About:Top 8 China Train Travel Tips You Should Know

Hi. I will arrive at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai around 1 AM on August 22.

I will be staying at Mingtown Youth Hostel for the rest of my stay in Shanghai. I would like to catch a train bound to Beijing on the night of August 23. If I buy tickets in the morning of August 22, do you think T - train hard sleeper tickets would still be available by then? I am worried that the tickets will be sold out by then. Also, can buy my return ticket in advance (Beijing to Shanghai) at Shanghai railway station?

And my last question is, how do I get to Shanghai Railway Station via subway/ bus or taxi from my hotel (Mingtown Yoith Hostel)? We are a group of four travelers so taxi bill could be split among the four of us, but it would be nice if there are easier and cheaper alternatives. Thank you so much for whoever can help me.

Your Shanghai visit just meets summer holidays and EXPO Shanghai 2010.So, you have little chance to get the train tickets for your round trip in the morning of August 22.

The Beijing-bound trains departs from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station or Shanghai Railway Station. You can get to the stations by subway.The following subway map will guide you how to get the station.

The subway line No 2 will stop at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station.

Buy your tickets as far in advance as allowed. Take the night sleeper no matter what and get no smoking if you can. Believe me - get the sleepers tickets.
