How to get bus to great wall

Which part of the Great Wall are you going to visit?

Just got back from Badaling and the cable car is NOT working/down for maintenance they say.
Re the 919 bus. I waited way over 1 hour for this bus on the way to the Wall. One Chinese man told me they wait till they have 40 people before the bus leaves. But on the way back there were over 150 people waiting and the bus just did not come for almost an hour. Many in the back of the line just went over and got on the 919 that came about every 10 minutes. So I wonder if it wouldn't have been better both ways to just take the darn slow bus.
Go LEFT when you come out of the subway to get to the 'express 919'. There are lots of 919 buses along the road but the one you want is way down by the 'gate'.
Bring foodstuffs as everything is about 3 times as expensive at the wall. Hard to pay 20 yuan for a little bottle of coke or 20 yuan /$3.50 for an instant noodle but that is what they try to get. ( Don't bother to whine about this post..who wants to throw money away?)
