About:Chinese Consulate in Brisbane

I intend to travel to Hong Kong on October 27, 2010 to attend the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair.
I will be returning to Australia on October 31, 2010.
My Australian Passport expires on December 7, 2010.
My question is; Will I be allowed to enter Hong Kong on this passport since it will expire in December?
Thank you for your assistance.

You need to renew your passport first. Because if you want to apply for a visa, a passport valid for at least 6 months is required.

Dear Mr Chloe,
I don't need to apply for a visa, my stay in Hong Kong is only for 4 days & then I return to Australia. What I want to know is: Will I be allowed to enter SAR Hong Kong on my current passport which expires in December?
Many thanks for your earliest reply.

Mr.Kollosche, you are allowed to enter Hong Kong SAR on your current passport. If your passport still has the validity of 1 month beyond the intended stay, the immigration officer of Hong Kong pemrits you to enter. Your passport is still valid for 37 days after you leave Hong Kong.
