We are travelling guillan, to Chengdu, to Xian, & Beijing from 20th November to 19th December Is this a busy time? Would it be advisable to prebook train tickets for travel and how far in advance can they be booked. Also what is the most common language spoken in these areas - cantonese or mandarin Thanks

Not a busy time but still need to book train ticket in advance, generally three days in advance is okay. Mandarin is the most common language. Guilin, Chengdu and Xian has their own dialects. Cantonese is only spoken in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.
