There will be a lot of illegal taxi drivers asking if you want a taxi. Head out the doors from the baggage claim level and cross over the first lane of traffic. the cab line is well marked with signs in English but don't expect anyone to speak it. If you are already booked into a hotel then email the concierge and ask for the hotel name and address tin Chinese characters. Print it at bring it along to give to your taxi driver. Sometimes the hotel will have a western name and a Chinese name. As an example, taxi drivers do not know the Intercontinental by that name...they callit the Haeir Hotel because that company owns it. Cab ride from airport to the Intercontinental at the Olympic harbour (downtown) usually costs me about 85 rmb...pretty cheap.
