Bars and clubs!? My area of expertise! The three main areas ...
1. Sanlitun/Gong Ti Bei Men (Worker's Stadium) - the most famous bar/club area. You'll certainly find something to suit your taste here!
2. Chaoyang Park (especially the West Gate) - fewer bars, but some of the best clubs. Most clubs have cover charges here. Just a short ride from Sanlitun by taxi.
3. Houhai (i.e. the small lakes near the centre of BJ) - lots of small bars. Cooler thanks to the water, but some mozzies!

The best disc that Ive been to is the Banana in Chaoyang Disctrict...
Rest, if you want to just hang around without any entry fees, then Blue Bar in Sanlitun is a decent option... Nice ambience, great music!!!

There are a few small pubs in sanlitun for cheap drinks.. so best option is.. booze and hit the dance floor!!!!
