About:Chinese Embassies in Oceania

We have branches in Shanghai and Guangzhou. We recently employed 2 Managers(Malaysian) to be based either in Shanghai and Guangzhou. Can they enter on tourist visa and then apply for work permit in China or do they need to apply for working visa before going to China? What documents are needed if we need to apply for working visa?

they need to apply for work visa before going to China, besides the basic requirements listed on this page, the additional required documents for work visa application are:
1. alien work permit
2. visa notification letter issued by authorized Chinese government unit
3. medical examination record stamped by an hospital accepted by China embassy/consulate in Malaysia.
