Hi!

I see the information at the top saying Jinshanling is closed? Is that right? I thought maybe it was only the Simatai section that was closed - meaning its not possible right now to walk from JSl to Simatai.

I'd be grateful if someone could confirm that.

Yours,

Jim

Hi JW, I can assure you that the whole section from Jinshanling to Simatai is closed. You cannot visit it any more before the restoration project finish.

Jinshanling is open. You can hike towards Simatai but will need to turn back halfway (as it's Simatai that is closed for restoration - not the entire section as Andrew has mentioned). Several has mentioned that the hike to Gubeikou is a good alternative. (And I just got back from hiking Jinshanling).

Thanks to all - seems the general view (and contacting tour operators) is that JSL is open and possible so I'll be doing that in October. Should be great even if the Simatai section is closed.

Hope everyone is enjoying their travels.
