About:Shenzhen Travel

I'm fm Indonesia and I plan to enter Shenzhen via Hong Kong in September, and I will only stay in Shenzhen for 1 day and continue my journey to Guangzhou and Xiamen. I plan to get the visa to China in Indonesia (single entry). I read somewhere that in order to enter China, you have to settle down the documents in HungHom in Hong Kong. But others said that in order to enter Shenzhen your documents will need to be settled in Lowu. So, considering my case, do I need to stop at Hunghom first or do I just travel by MTR fm HongKong and stop at Lowu instead? Please kindly advise.
