About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

Hi there,
I just wanna to make an enquiry.
Me and my friend are australian citizen, and intend to travel to Mainland China by Xmas time till Mid February.
He has a criminal record, he has committed 2 offences for theft in 2003 and 2006.
But he never been convicted to jail, the court was giving him a behaviour bond for community hours.
As he's planning to visit his fiancee in china, he wanna to know what would be his chances, to be successful to apply for that visa.

Thanks

Criminal records limit his chance to China. It is difficult to get one if you list the 'yes' down there in application Form.

i don't think it is a big problem for China visa application, 2 offences for theft are not big criminal record, he don't need to declare that he made the 2 offences on the visa application form, the visa officer won't check it.

Hi Mrs Vivian,
thanks for your reply.
I just want to make sure, if my friend logdge to application form.
If it's only 2 minor offences, there is no need to put it.
At the end he doesn't want to get into trouble with the law.
He just want to do the right thing.
But also since he's an australian citizen.
He's been in australian for more than 10 years.
He never went to china.
Can he apply for multiple entries, for his 1st time to visit china?
Thanks

He can have a try to apply for a multiple-entry visa, on the visa application form, he can click that he needs the multiple-entry visa valid for 1 year, but the final decision is up to the judgement of visa officer, maybe he just gets a single-entry visa.

As for the 2 offences for theft, he can declare on the visa application form, but he needs to write clearly to explain the process, reason, etc, the most important thing is to make sure that he won't do illegal activities and he has regretted for his fault, etc, to impress the visa officer that you want to be a good man and give a chance to come to China.
