About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

I expect to have a long layover in Shanghai Pudong airport where my outgoing flight is American Airlines standby. Will I be able to use the hourly hotel facilities even though I will not have a boarding pass until just before flight time?

Are the hourly hotel facilities considered "within the airport" when using the 24 hour Visa-free transit rule?

Yes, you could stay in the hourly hotel without visa. Please book the hotel in advance and then when you arrive at the airport, the hotel staff will pick you up and guide you to go through the immigration.
