Is it possible to take a bicycle with me by train from Xian to Chengdu?

Personally, it is possible, since one of my friends has ever done that. However, you need to disassemble the bike and pack it in a box or sack before boarding the train. Sometimes, the train attendants will charge you the baggage fees if there are strict policies with the baggage at the departure train stations.
