About:Beijing Capital International Airport

Hi! My sister and I will be arriving in Beijing at approximately 00.10am. We intend to take the subway out of the airport to city centre when it starts service at 7 in the morning. Is it possible to collect our luggages after clearing immigration and yet still remain in the transit area where there are shops around?
Or will we be required to leave the secured area straight after clearing immigration (like in the Hong Kong airport)? Please advise. Thanks!

I'm afraid that these shops in transit and secured area will be close after 24:00. So, you have to wait for the first train in the public area, where round-clock shops are available but not duty free.

hi Hank, how about staying in the airport until airport express starts it service at around 6.30 in the morning? my flight will arrive in T2 at 00:00 am and i'm afraid that the only way to go to downtown during that time is via taxi. and that wouldn't be cheap.

Hi Mr. calc, seems no need to stay at the airport at all. The airport shuttle bus Line 2 is in service 24 hours round the clock. You could take it to downtown area with a fare of CNY16 and then transfer to your hotel by taxi with reasonable price.
