About:Chengdu Attractions

I am planning to go to Jiuzhaigou on my own this December 2010. If I fly into Chengdu, how far is Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu town. Is there any shuttle service that I can take to Jiuzhaigou ? Can anyone suggests how many days should I stay there ?What other places of attractions in and around Chengdu that will be interesting for a family with 2 kids. Any suggestions of hotels, etc ?

Yes, you can take bus to Jiuzhaigou Valley. Or you can take plane too. Just want you to know that taking plane is more expensive.

By bus: go to Xinnanmen(New South) Bus Station to take long-distance bus. It costs around CNY141. The bus leaves at 8:00am.

I suggest that you stay ther for two days so that you will have a thorough view of Jiuzhai Valley. In winter, Huanglong Scenic Area is closed. If you are interested, you may visit Munigou Valley.

Chengdu has many attractions. You may find some on this page. I highly recommend you to visit Bifengxia Giant Panda Base or Chengdu Giant Panda Research Center to see giant panda. There you can take photos with pandas though the prices are very expensive.
